Just a friendly reminder: DO NOT COMPLY

A dear friend of mine is terrified that she will get fired from the job she's had since college.

She's had a long, illustrious career as a brilliant engineer, garnering design awards, performance bonuses, and customer accolades throughout her professional lifetime.

So why on earth, you might ask, would such a top performer be afraid of getting fired?

The answer may shock you...

One of her very own co-workers, whom she's known and worked with for decades, might turn her in and get her fired for using the correct bathroom.

Most people at her level of education are liberal because education opens minds and exposes people to other points of view, fomenting critical thinking.

But some, alas, are maga...steeped in fear and self-loathing and eager to swing their d!cks by punching down on an innocent person who has never caused them any harm and who has, in fact, been a model employee and co-worker.

So my poor friend is contemplating putting in her retirement paperwork this coming week.

If it comes to this, all I can say is that it would be a stupid way for stupid people to end a brilliant woman's brilliant career.

Here's what I told my friend...

maga is too disorganized and incompetent to micromanage employment to the degree they would need to if they were serious about enforcing workplace hate, discrimination, and sexual harassment and assault (yes, these are features to them, not bugs).

So I reminded her that their goal has always been to weaponize fear so we comply in advance

The more we let them terrorize us into doing what they want without them even asking, the more they win.

So I advised her: DO NOT COMPLY.

And certainly DO NOT COMPLY IN ADVANCE.

If you're facing a situation like this, talk to your supervisor and their supervisor and find out what exactly would happen if some maga decided to go on the warpath against you. Don't just jump ship in anticipation of the worst that could happen. Get concrete answers and, if those answers leave you feeling unsafe, then make an exit plan. If you have to leave, leave on your own terms to the best of your ability.

Use whatever happens as an opportunity: don't jump away from; jump to something better.

Better is always out there waiting for you.

Living better is the best revenge.

So let's all live better because WE CAN.

DON'T let the haters win.
