I tried to format this post, but Blogger had other ideas...

Greetings, gentle Dot Calm Readers
and Truth Crusaders!

What a crazy week. Anybody else on the east coast survive SNOWZILLA? People are still digging out. Two feet or more of snow is hard to shift unless you've got a heavy-duty snow-thrower. I can't imagine how y'all in the Great White North manage it every year...but I love your toughness.

Me, I'll tough out the heats and hum-didities so you don't have to.

Wouldn't it be nice if it really worked that way?

Not everyone can donate to preserve American women's hard-earned reproductive rights, but please donate if you can! The people who need Planned Parenthood most--for all of their services--are often the ones least able to contribute. If we don't step up and protect them, Republicans will turn them into brood mares for the state...with no control over their own bodies or destinies. Cannon fodder, anyone?

A grand jury has just indicted the extremists who tried to frame Planned Parenthood. Now it's time for Congress to shut down the Special Committee to Attack Planned Parenthood. Will you chip in $15?

Huge news: A Texas grand jury investigating Planned Parenthood indicted the anti-choice extremists who tried to frame the organization instead.1
The grand jury confirmed what we've been saying all along—that it was David Daleiden and the anti-choice Center for Medical Progress who broke the law, not Planned Parenthood.
But while Planned Parenthood has been cleared in court, Paul Ryan still refuses to shut down the Special Committee to Attack Planned Parenthood, which was created for the sole purpose of investigating these now-debunked attacks.
David Daleiden's illegally recorded, maliciously edited videos sparked a wave of witch-hunt investigations in Congress and the states.
Eleven states and four separate Congressional committees have wasted taxpayer money investigating Planned Parenthood and found not one shred of evidence of wrongdoing.2
And then in October, anti-choice Republicans voted to create a full-time, ongoing special committee with the sole mandate of investigating the lies that David Daleiden broke the law to spread.
Think about that. A grand jury in Texas cleared Planned Parenthood of wrongdoing. Planned Parenthood's accusers now face up to 20 years in jail for their conspiracy to smear the organization.
But Speaker Paul Ryan wants to waste even more taxpayer money to continue the smear campaign started by these lawless anti-choice liars. We won't stand for it.
Thank you for helping to make reproductive freedom real for all women.

Open letter to Steve Harvey

Don't ask me where I get this stuff--I'm not about to reveal my sources--but I can tell you that, in my humble opinion, the individual who sent this letter has one evil sense of humor...!

Hi, Steve Harvey!

You are one of my favorite public personalities. You have a great smile, and you always make me laugh.

I saw somewhere recently that you had said,

"If we came from monkeys,
then why are there still monkeys?"

I know, right?

You would think that, after 150 years of studying the origin of species, all those silly secular scientists would have thought about that brilliant question.

They are so funny--they would have us believe that the world is governed by natural laws for which observations can be replicated the world over, no matter what belief system the observer belongs to.

Like "gravity," which has less evidence to support it than "evolution."

I know, right?!

Shouldn't someone tell them that it's all just God pushing everything down all the time? Then they wouldn't have to sit through all that boring math and stuff. After all, it's not like they went to school and know something you and I don't know!

Here's another question--every bit as brilliant as yours, I like to think--that would stump those silly secular scientists cold if anyone ever asked them: "If Steve Harvey's ancestors came from Africa, then why are there still Africans?" I'd love to be a fly on the wall if someone ever asked them that!

Signed,

Your friend
P.S.--one "criticism": please have Marjorie on more often. She is just yummy!
