"Thus always to tyrants"

Virginia's state seal shows a victorious figure standing on the chest of a defeated king.

The Virginia state motto is--or at least used to be--"Sic semper tyrannis," meaning "Thus always to tyrants."

News flash, Virginia: you just voted FOR the tyrant.

YOU JUST VOTED AWAY YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE IN PERPETUITY.

You literally just voted against democracy and for the dictator.

If you're going to keep your state motto, then, for the sake of truth in advertising, maybe you should change the artwork on your state seal to show yourselves bending over for the tyrant.

The problem isn't being transgender

The problem isn't trans people being trans any more than the problem is autistic people being autistic, women being women, people of color being people of color, left-handed people being left-handed or of any other people existing as exactly who they are under the sun.

The problem is society: any society that forbids people to exist as they are and that penalizes them simply for existing rather than for behaving in harmful ways is a failed society.

Trans people are not any more inherently harmful to others than autistic people, women, people of color, or any other marginalized population.

It's the majority populations--especially those with wealth and power, and especially those who are narcissists, psychopaths, and sociopaths--that are harmful.

The transgender woman did not rape your kid--you're thinking of the local priest or minister.

The person of color did not lay you off to increase his annual bonus--you're thinking of the rich white bossman.

American society rewards harmful majority populations for causing harm and pits the rest of us against marginalized populations for simply existing.

I think it's high time for us all to start letting LGBTQ+, women, people of color, poor people, and every other marginalized population exist in peace and to stop rewarding the rich and powerful who are intent only on our destruction.

What's wrong with being transgender

How dare you be transgender--how dare you fail to validate my cisgender way of life! I am too fearful and ashamed to exist in this world unless every other person I meet validates my exact way of life!

How dare you be homosexual--how dare you fail to validate my heterosexual way of life! I am too fearful and ashamed to exist in this world unless every other person I meet validates my exact way of life!

How dare you be fluid or queer--how dare you fail to validate my tightly constricted, strictly defined way of life! I am too fearful and ashamed to exist in this world unless every other person I meet validates my exact way of life!

How dare you be a woman--how dare you fail to validate my male way of life! I am too fearful and ashamed to exist in this world unless every other person I meet validates my exact way of life!

How dare you be a person of color--how dare you fail to validate my white way of life! I am too fearful and ashamed to exist in this world unless every other person I meet validates my exact way of life!

How dare you be vegan--how dare you fail to validate my meat-eating way of life! I am too fearful and ashamed to exist in this world unless every other person I meet validates my exact way of life!

How dare you be educated--how dare you fail to validate my ignorant way of life! I am too fearful and ashamed to exist in this world unless every other person I meet validates my exact way of life!

How dare you be rational--how dare you fail to validate my superstitious way of life! I am too fearful and ashamed to exist in this world unless every other person I meet validates my exact way of life!

I refuse to look inward for my own happiness because I am deathly afraid that, if I look inward, there will be nothing there--just an inky black void. I am deathly afraid that, if I look inward, I will confirm the terrifying, ugly fact that there is no me. So, instead of pulling myself up by my own bootstraps, facing my fears, and taking responsibility for who I am and how I feel, I've decided to blame you for all my problems because that's easier, and it makes me feel better.

I hate you because I know that there are other--perhaps better!--ways of existing in this world, and your existence threatens my existence because you don't mirror my exact way of life back to me.

And that's why I want you dead.

(This is what maga would say if they were self aware.)
