If you’re familiar with this blog, you’ve noticed I almost never mention personal experiences. Looking back, some are just funny and it’s good to remember them so I’m reminded why I twitch today. When we lived on Long Island I had a chance to take my very first ride on the Long Island Railroad...a ride Morgan took every day to and from the City.
I arranged for a sitter for the girls, (babies at the time), dressed to the nines and drove the short distance to the railroad station. The train made a few more stops and off we went to the City.
Suddenly the train made a gawd-awful sound and screeched to a halt, sending the conductor tumbling down the aisle as the rest of us were hanging on for dear life. The train stopped there for what seemed a long time before it started again.
Morgan looked concerned as I walked up to him in Penn Station and asked if the ride was always so rough.
We then proceeded on to the function where I hope I ordered a double.
