MERRY CHRISTMAS!
*******************************************

A Giant Thanks To My Wonderful Family
for Making My Birthday So Special!

Joey emailed hours before with good wishes! He and the family were on their way to a fabulous ski vacation! Nevertheless, he thought of his sister! I was thrilled!

Brother Bob messaged, too.

I received a lovely birthday card from my Uncle Pete and Aunt Prudy (residing in heaven). Through the years they’ve never forgotten my birthday. As the years roll by it becomes more and more meaningful to receive a hand written birthday wish from my Uncle Pete, who will be turning 92 this January 20th.

Carol called and we had a lovely chat. Of course she is concerned for Jerry, who suffered a stroke recently. I promised our prayers for a quick recovery. If you have a moment, pray for someone who has brought so much happiness to our sister.

Then Elena rang me up. She is still her bubbly, wonderful self. It was a joy catching up on her busy life. It’s all good, and for that we can be thankful. I think Elena’s students are fortunate to have such a caring and concerned teacher. I wish there were more like her in our public school system.

Now, let me tell you about me and Gloria. Every year we try to outdo each other regarding “most creative” birthday present. I had a world-famous cheesecake from Junior’s Cheesecakes in New York City delivered for her birthday. I barely got time to slap myself on the back when Gloria comes back with...ready?...an entire Prime Rib dinner from soup to nuts delivered from Annabelle’s, a fine restaurant here in town.

Drats! She wins again! There’s always next year. I’m gonna start thinking about it now. Any ideas? Don’t hesitate in sharing. I’m not proud and will entertain all creative suggestions.

Then Amy gets through. By this time I’m chomping on my prime rib as Amy shares her impossibly busy day. She and Mike (her new husband), cleared out of Amy’s house in Reston, VA, and made arrangements for the Steinway to be moved.

Of course, Amy and I had so much to discuss with all the changes taking place in her life right now.

So I start thinking: Beth probably has this number on speed dial. She never got through but let me describe the beautiful Christmas center piece from her and the family. I just love having the smell of fresh pine wafting through the rooms.

Lisa didn’t get through either, and I’m sure it’s not from the lack of trying.

Here’s an amusing image. While I’m chatting with all the well wishers, Morgan is happily chomping away on the delicious prime rib dinner. He just loves when it’s my birthday!

And one last thought. I’ve always loved when my birthday falls. Everyone is in a festive mood. Through the years it has brought new and exciting surprises, not the least of which was Beth! (Dec. 13th).
