This Week’s Shoot-Out

Oh, it was terrible! Just terrible!

This time The Boston Marathon!

Everyone in the crowd was in a festive mood.

The weather was cooperating. It was a beautiful, summer day in Bean Town as the runners were coming in.

Excited fans and family members at the finish line, cheered for each of the runners.

Suddenly everything changed.

An explosion.

Followed by pandemonium.

Dad! Dad!...please come in...Daddy, pleaded a boy.

Close to the finish line a bomb had gone off sending some of the spectators flying.

A plume of smoke blanketed the crowd, making it difficult to see their loved one. Eyes were burning, adding to the confusion.

Finally, the sound of ambulances.

Hospitals filled with the wounded...some serious.

HawkEye and Hunnicutt triaged wounds not seen since war days.

Missing limbs...crushed legs...blood...blood...blood everywhere.

Why would anyone do such a hateful thing?

Runners. Simply apolitical runners trying their personal best.
