The problem isn't being transgender

The problem isn't trans people being trans any more than the problem is autistic people being autistic, women being women, people of color being people of color, left-handed people being left-handed or of any other people existing as exactly who they are under the sun.

The problem is society: any society that forbids people to exist as they are and that penalizes them simply for existing rather than for behaving in harmful ways is a failed society.

Trans people are not any more inherently harmful to others than autistic people, women, people of color, or any other marginalized population.

It's the majority populations--especially those with wealth and power, and especially those who are narcissists, psychopaths, and sociopaths--that are harmful.

The transgender woman did not rape your kid--you're thinking of the local priest or minister.

The person of color did not lay you off to increase his annual bonus--you're thinking of the rich white bossman.

American society rewards harmful majority populations for causing harm and pits the rest of us against marginalized populations for simply existing.

I think it's high time for us all to start letting LGBTQ+, women, people of color, poor people, and every other marginalized population exist in peace and to stop rewarding the rich and powerful who are intent only on our destruction.
