I don't want nancy mace's penis in MY bathroom!
nancy mace is making political theater by harassing incoming congresswoman Sarah McBride.
Does mace literally have nothing better to do?
Is there no one among the American public whom they could use their platform and their powers to help?
No farmers?
No elderly?
No disabled people?
No veterans?
No people of color?
No poor people?
No women?
No LGBTQ+?
Are there literally no marginalized Americans whom mace could HELP, and so they have no choice and nothing else to do but to hate and harass?
Methinks mace doth protest too much.
What sexual closet is mace in?
Was mace promiscuous young and needed an abortion or three (hence their shame driving their hatred of all women and lust to deprive them of the privilege they had)?
Are they a lesbian?
Or bi?
Or--gasp!--TRANS?
Maybe nancy mace is a closeted transgender person and is too self-shamed to admit it.
Who knows?
What I do know is that I don't want any part of nancy mace, especially their penis, in MY bathroom--public or otherwise. "Serving" in congress means SERVING, not hating, harassing, and punching down on our fellow Americans--especially marginalized ones.
What I do know is that nancy mace is a profoundly unhappy--dare I say miserable?--person.
Bigots are not happy in their own skins--happy people are too busy being happy and helping others to harass and hate.
Happy people are too busy being happy and helping others to lust for tiny populations of marginalized, comparatively powerless people to punch down on.
The sexual shame, fear, and hate that maga symptomatizes is epidemic in this country--our nation is literally about to be destroyed in a few short weeks because of this epidemic of sexual shame, fear, and hate.
It's tempting to point and laugh at the sick, sad bigots and to other them, but that's no more righteous than pointing and laughing at injured people on the side of the road after a car wreck. Sure, maybe the driver was drinking or speeding and caused the wreck, but, at the end of the day, people are hurting and need our help, not our judgment.
maga are sick, sad, injured, and hurting--that's a fact.
We can and should condemn the actions but not the people.
The question becomes what, if anything, we can do about the epidemic that is destroying us.
It's not feasible to offer help to those who can't even admit that they have a problem. maga has been conned out of everything they hold dear, and who knows what it will take for them to come to terms with that fact?
Until they do, they are unreachable by logic, reason, or evidence.
The least we can do is not make the situation worse. Like I said, definitely condemn their actions when they're acting hateful and bigoted, but do not condemn the people--all that does is drive them to dig in their heels.
As I've been saying, we can work on ourselves and in our own circles. We can teach our children and each other the kind of healthy self-love that foments happiness and safety in our own skins--the kind of self-love that protects us against becoming bigoted.
As far as maga are concerned, I think the best thing to do for now is to walk away. Let them be what they are and see for themselves what a fucking disaster they've wreaked upon themselves. Let them reap what they've sown. Hopefully, first-hand experience will help them wake up and smell the coffee.
And if or when they do come to their senses, we can be there for them. We can welcome them back into the fold without judging them for their past actions.
If or when the time comes, let's resist the urge to shout "I told you so!" and take our frustrations out on them for what they've done because, if we get the opportunity to mount an effort to save this country before the toilet that is fascism flushes it the rest of the way down the drain, we're going to need every ally we can possibly get, and maga is going to need every drop of compassion we can possibly give them.
