Indiana Plans Language to 'Clarify' Religious Objections Law

March 30, 2015--Indiana's Republican legislative leaders said Monday they're working on adding language to a new state law to make it clear that it doesn't allow discrimination against gays and lesbians.

Really? Bless their black little hearts.

The move comes amid a widespread outcry over the measure that prohibits state laws that "substantially burden" a person's ability to follow his or her religious beliefs.

Now bread crumbs will be followed by the really, really religious. Remember Hansel & Gretel?

The definition of "person" includes religious institutions, businesses and associations.

Whoa! Institutions, businesses and associations (plural) does not equal person (singular). Stop messin' with my phucken brain...it's already messed up with drugs!

Businesses and organizations across the country have canceled future travel to Indiana, tabled expansion plans or criticized the legislation.

Well let's hope to kiss a pig saner minds will prevail!

Opponents have taken to social media with the hashtag #boycottindiana.

Take your hashtag and shove it! Oops. You're on our side. Nevermind.

House Speaker Brian Bosma and Senate President Pro Tem David Long said during Monday's news conference that similar laws exist across the country and have not generated the backlash that Indiana has seen.

Hmm...veddy interesting.

Bosma blamed the reaction on a "mischaracterization" of the law by both opponents and some supporters.

Are you gonna force me to look up "mischaractization." I think it's a fraud, like everything else you fakes attempt to force on the rest of us.

"What we had hoped for with the bill was a message of inclusion, inclusion of all religious beliefs," Bosma said.

Be careful what you "hope for," you morons! These are people's lives you're dickin' with!

 "What instead has come out as a message of exclusion, and that was not the intent."

John Oliver Tackles One Of the Biggest—And Least Talked About—Problems in US Politics

"When you have a system where judges are serenaded with banjos…you have a problem."

On Sunday, HBO's John Oliver took aim at one of American politics' biggest—and least talked about—problems: judicial elections. 

As the Last Week Tonight host points out, putting judges in the position of soliciting campaign donations—often from people who may appear in their courtrooms—greatly reduces the appearance of impartiality (at best), and stacks the deck in favor of those with more money (at worst).

Mother Jones examined this issue in depth last fall, discovering that judges themselves aren't all that thrilled that spending on judicial elections has more than doubled over the last two decades, with much of that growth in form of often unaccountable outside spending.
