And, this to Ed Schultz
Dear Ed:
I’m writing on behalf of my “baby” sister.
Lisa is the youngest of nine of us. She is a selfless teacher of special children.
Lisa drove a used BMW. Believe me when I say she loved her car and wanted nothing more.
She and her husband, Jim, adopted two children from Romania. First, Jacob, then a little girl she named Mary, after our mother.
I want to be as charitable as possible when I say Lisa rescued the children from a veritable hell hole.
Today the children are thriving as they experience childhood as any American kid does.
Hurricane Sandy wiped Lisa out to where the family is living on the second floor of the house.
Insurance totaled the BMW.
Fortunately, her sisters got together and had a “hurricane replacement shower” arranged by another sister. We replaced most of her kitchen appliances...you know the ones I mean...the ones that get us thru the day...like a toaster and a coffee maker.
Ed, I’m not complaining...it’s just unnerving to be told your stuff is worth shit.
So, there you have it...just one story...and, I’m sure far from the worst one coming out of Long Island.
It’s infuriating to watch these politicians bob and weave as so many lives are held in the balance.
You have the bully pulpit. Please use it to speak for the hundreds of Americans who suddenly find themselves living the way the survivors of Hurricane Katrina do.
Thank you, Ed, for being such a great American!
p.s.--Does it matter that Lisa is a Republican? I didn’t think so.
