Like Granny D, I have watched my own beloved country change, and I am angry beyond words about what I see. I grew up seeing America as the equivalent of the movie good guy, the hero in the white hat who came to the rescue of those in need around the world. I have watched in silent horror as the corporations, the captains and the kings of industry, used a comparatively small outlay of cash to buy the Republicans to use as their shills. George W. Bush is the puppet cowboy-king of shills, the proverbial emperor with no clothes. Every day, I watch these evil men legalize, legitimize, and institutionalize robbing the poor to pay the rich. They are carving up America like a giant carcass and doling out choice chunks of its meat to themselves and their cronies. Since the Democrats have been sipping at the same corporate teat where the Republicans have been gorging for the past generation, the fascists are free to do their worst; there is no longer any opposition. There is no one left to stand up for the rights of the American people, the Constitution, or the democracy, which I fear will be replaced by a fascist dictatorship in my lifetime. Wake up, America: we need a REVOLUTION NOW!

The Virginia contingent of the SOPROUD rapid response team heard that Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) voted FOR Rexxon Tillerson--KNOWN climate science denier. Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND), Joe Manchin (D-WVA), Ron Johnson (R-WI), and Angus King (I-ME) also voted for Rexxon--the bastards!!!!!
I will post a wall of shame--Dems who voted for ANY trump nominee--so that we know whom to vote AGAINST in 2018.
Srsly--there was ZERO risk to them in voting against every trump nominee, but there's plenty of risk to them in voting FOR the ignorant, greedy, corrupt, lying, criminal bastards.
If these Democratic bastards are not fighting FOR us, they're FIRED. Half-baked, half-hearted, half-assed defenses will not help us now--we're ALL skr00ed.
The risk of filibustering Neil Gorsuch and every other trump nominee is minimal in the sense that there is an election coming up in 2018: Dems are going to have to fight tooth and nail lest we oust them wholesale. But I don't think they realize that yet...

One thing I can say: there are a few pearls of good news today: apparently, there IS going to be a general strike 17 February (I think)--I'll find out more about it and post when I do. Mark Warner's website now has a page dedicated to nominations so you can go in and tell him how you disapprove of each one individually--I'm doing a few each evening when I get home from work. Things ain't exactly looking up, but at least people are fighting mad, and they're getting active and actually DOING something about this fucking mess we're in.
So hang in there, friends--we CAN do this!

been in violation of the Constitution's emoluments clause, which forbids elected officials from accepting any kind of payment or consideration from foreign governments, from his first day in office,
used legislative branch staff do work for the executive branch without telling Congress,
rolled back an interest rate cut for homeowners,
gone back on his promise to negotiate lower prescription drug prices,
forbidden civil servants from communicating with the media or the public regarding their work and research,
threatened the media and called for journalists who report on the administration's dishonesty to be fired,
and directed the Department of Homeland Security to begin construction of a wasteful, destructive wall along the U.S. border with Mexico.
That's only the beginning.
This administration is a disgrace, even without considering Trump's extensive known and suspected ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, and other white nationalists at home and abroad. They're a disgrace even without considering Trump's praise of brutal authoritarian leaders in Turkey, India, and the Phillippines, on the basis of that brutality.
In less than a month, our country went from shaking hands with China's leaders on a climate deal, to senior officials in both governments talking openly about the possibility of war. That's how badly this preidency is going. I don't want to see how much worse it can get.
