Why we SHOULD keep Dickless donald from being elected--or impeach him once he is elected.

Greetings, fellow Dot Calm Readers, Freedom Fighters, and Truth Crusaders!

So, Michigan Republicans stopped the recount in their state. That is an outrage. To me, it shows that Republicans know that honest investigations into their actions will prove that they have defrauded the American people of their duly elected president: Hillary Rodham Clinton.

We have two major problems in this country: those in power put money ahead of people, and they have no accountability.

As long as we the governed allow this, we will have corrupt mafiosos like Dickless Donald "LOSER" trump in the White House.

On a completely unrelated note, here's a PSA: beware the shit-the-bed virus-or-whatever-it-is. Apparently, there is a sneaky virus-or-something, I know not what, running up and down the east coast and who knows where else that causes fecal incontinence during the night, when the victim is sound asleep. So far, there are four cases I've heard about within the last week. Fecal incontinence during sleep is extremely rare and usually indicates something serious, like nerve damage. But if it's happening to a number of people all at the same time, it may not be something to worry about once you bleach your jammies and bedding in hot water after the incident and start taking psyllium twice a day. That said, if it happens to you and you're concerned, or if it happens more than once, then don't wait--see the doctor immediately. (Disclaimer: don't take health advice from random bloggers.) And now...back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Donald trump and Rex Tillerson want to make Russia great again.

As usual, there is no justice. The system rewards the greedy rich. It-snot the greedy rich who suffer most from global warming--it's the innocent poor, who did nothing to cause it. The poor will be exterminated, but the greedy rich will live on. The Armageddon to come will decimate the human species, leaving only the greedy rich--the ruthless, merciless, pitiless, and cruel
--to perpetuate humanity after global warming kills off the rest of us. Why? Because they have the money and power to insulate themselves from the mass extinction their policies produce. We don't. We'd better break out the torches and pitchforks while we can, people--our time is running out!!

THE REPUBLICAN WAR ON WOMEN!

*****

Many progressives are saying that we should not lobby the Electoral College not to elect trump and that we should not impeach trump if he is elected. Why? Because penis pence is so much worse.

Friends, that is exactly why we should fight to keep trump from being elected and why we should fight to impeach him if he is elected.

Let me elaborate.

Picture trump "in office"--tweeting lie after moronic outrageous lie every news cycle to distract from how he's skr00ing us ordinary Americans over...playing executive producer on his shitty reality teevee show...manipulating stocks like Boeing's, bribing companies like Carrier, self-dealing tiny hand over tiny fist, taking bribes from foreign dignitaries...and generally turning the Oval Office into a three-ring circus.

If you've been following the blawg, and especially if you've been watching the Randi Rhodes videos I've been posting, you know by now that donna "tiny hands" trump (as it sounds like Jimmy Dore calls him) has NO INTENTION of governing. No--he plans to shop it all out...as Randi Rhodes says, to give himself PLAUSIBLE DENIABILITY.

Think about that for a moment...

Donald john trump running the circus show as interference for the Koch brothers to run America into the ground...to strip the country like a carcass for parts because they can...because we're all too distracted watching chump's Cheeto Benito freak show to realize what the captains and the kings are doing behind our backs.

Now picture this...

Donald john trump fails to win the 270 electoral votes to become president, or he is impeached within his first year because he broke the law from day one. chump is out, pence is in.

Then...

Without the reality teevee freak show, there is nothing to distract us--or the media--from seeing what the Christo-fascists are doing to skroo us over. No tweet-storms, no egregious lies, no bribe-giving or bribe-taking, no self-dealing. No pitting us ordinary Americans against each other when it's really the greedy rich who are the cause of all our problems.

No more smoke 'n' mirrors...

Just the cold, hard reality that the Republican party, with pence at the helm, is inflicting austerity measures on us and turning us into the Impoverished States of Koch Kansas so that the rich can get even richer while the middle class turn poor and the poor starve, sicken, and die.

Taking Donald trump out of the picture strips away the cheap plastic veneer behind which all the greed so desperately wants to hide...like cockroaches in the dark until you turn the kitchen lights on.

And since pence would be a Republican president with a Republican Senate and a Republican House, it would be crystal clear to anyone who's paying attention how the sausage is being made--and how we ordinary Americans are the meat getting thrown into the grinder for the fat-cats to devour. If you're not sitting at the dinner table, you're sitting on the dinner plate.

Is it really just me, or is shining a bright white light on the cold cruel reality of Tea Party Christo-fascism a goal well worth fighting for?

The real reason Trump's denial that Russia hacked Democrats' emails is so worrying
...In short, because it means that Cheeto Benito and cr00 will simply dismiss out of hand whatever inconvenient truths happen to pop up to vex them. Welcome to post-truth America, boyz 'n' girlz. I blame religion. If we didn't force people to quash their critical thinking skills in favor of buying into the mental narcotic of magical thinking, we wouldn't be in this fix. Oh, and we'd have started long ago to address global warming. I hate to think how many cultures American Christian missionaries have destroyed for a st00pit bunch of obviously made-up myths....

CIA report: Russia hacked the Democrats to help Trump
...They hacked the Republicans, too, but aren't releasing what they found. Clever people are speculating that it's because they are holding what they found over the haids of chump and the Republicans for blackmail...like making sure that chump named Rex Tillerson for Secretary of State as PEWtin's preferred choice.

Donald Trump has weaponized Twitter — with dangerous consequences
...Tweeting is Cheeto Benito's way of sic'ing his alt-right white supremacist attack dogs on his critics. They've been well organized for these fights and have been for a long time (remember Gamergate?). Victims are subject to all manner of insults and threats, including to their children. chump is one sick bastard, and don't tell me he doesn't know exactly what he's doing when he does this.

Donald Trump producing The Celebrity Apprentice is a big conflict of interest--for NBC
...Can you imagine: NBC gets an exclusive on a corruption scandal so big it torpedoes trump's presidency right outta the water (it could happen). But NBC is in bed with trump because he's producing one of their shows. What do you think they'd do? Need a precedent? Remember that "Access Hollywood" tape where trump's pussygrabbing boasts made it round the world? Yeah, well, apparently NBC dragged its feet publishing it.

The FDA is slowly getting weaker. Here's why that's dangerous.
...Current FDA standards use randomized, double-blind studies to prove that new drugs are safe and effective, and the FDA gets the raw data so they can check on the drug makers and make sure they didn't cook the books. But Republicans have been slowly defunding the FDA, hampering its ability to investigate new drugs in depth. Now Republicans want to take away the raw data AND the standard of proving that new drugs are safe and effective. This means that your new drug might be safe...or not...and it might be effective...or not. And all the drug company has to do is provide a report of trends to the FDA...meaning that the chickens have to rely on the foxes to guard the henhouse. Eesh. Note to self: DON'T take any drug approved after 2016!

Contrary to what you may have heard in the media, Donald Trump has not yet officially been elected President. The real election takes place December 19, when the 538 Electoral College Electors meet to cast their ballots their ballots--and these electors have the constitutional obligation to do reject Donald Trump.

You see, the Founders created the Electoral College for the exact purpose of stopping a demagogue who's unfit to serve from becoming President.

Donald Trump is exactly the kind of demagogue the Electoral College was created to stop. Will you sign my petition urging the Electoral College to reject Donald Trump and elect Hillary Clinton?

Donald Trump received unprecedented support from a foreign power, has called for a religious test to enter the country, and will be in violation of the constitution on his first day in office because of payments he receives from foreign governments.   Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by 2.84 million votes--a larger percentage victory than Jimmy Carter in 1976, Richard Nixon in 1968, John F. Kennedy in 1960, and eight other elected presidents.

Conscientious electors, utilizing the rights and responsibilities afforded them by the constitution, have an obligation to reject Trump.

Will you sign my petition urging the Electoral College to reject Donald Trump and elect Hillary Clinton?

If they all the electors vote the way their states voted, Donald Trump will be elected. However, in 14 states, electors can vote their conscience without any fear of penalty. In other states, they face only a possible fine.

The electoral college was created as a "break glass in case of emergency" fail safe to protect American democracy. This is that emergency.

Sign the petition calling on "Conscientious Electors" to protect the Constitution from Donald Trump, and to support the national popular vote winner.

Thank you,

Stop the Sabal Trail Pipeline

Petition by Tim Canova
Florida

Supporters
When the Standing Rock Youth first started their campaign to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline, no one had even heard of it – yet they went on to inspire hundreds of thousands of people to take action to stop a project that threatened their community. Today, I want to tell you about another equally dangerous pipeline that is threatening our water and animal life in Florida and neighboring states.
Please sign my petition to ask the Army Corps of Engineers to stop the Sabal Trail Transmission Pipeline.
A few weeks ago I finished up a campaign to run for Congress in Florida, during which I spent many months talking to voters in the state. Since then we launched Progress For All, a community action group committed to protecting our environment. You know what has stuck with me most from these collective efforts? The hundreds of conversations I’ve had with Floridians about their commitment to protecting our beautiful state from projects that prioritize profits over our safety and planet. Projects like the Sabal Trail Pipeline.
This pipeline will span more than 500 miles across Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. It will run right by the Crystal River, a crucial sanctuary for endangered manatees, and the Suwannee River, also home to several endangered species. Not only that, but the pipeline’s construction could also damage the fragile limestone which surrounds the Floridan Aquifer, one of the largest freshwater aquifers in the world.
Help us stop this project before it hurts Florida’s natural resources.
A few months ago, Governor Rick Scott’s administration changed our state’s water quality standards, opening the door for fracking and possibly more pipeline construction in Florida – all of which pose an even greater threat to our aquifer. But I know for a fact that Floridians are ready for a move away from these destructive industries. More and more cities and counties across Florida have passed resolutions to ban fracking. Voters recently passed a statewide referendum for solar energy and voted to protect state support for solar energy power.
I’m worried that some of Florida’s most precious natural treasures won’t be around in twenty years – all because politicians are defying the will of the people and pushing for fracking and more pipelines.
This is unacceptable. Please sign our petition and take action against this dangerous pipeline.

Friends,
2016 has been a tough year. Devastating climate impacts and the reality of a dangerous, anti-climate federal government means holding onto hope is more important than ever -- so let's take a moment to recognize our movement’s successes and learn from our victories.
A new report released today with our friends at Divest-Invest shows that the divestment movement doubled in size since 2015. 688 institutions across 76 countries who represent more than $5 trillion worth of assets have committed to divest!

Share this exciting news with your friends and show that the divestment movement continues to march forward.
And there’s more good news: New York’s American Museum of Natural History, one of the world's most respected science museums, just slashed fossil fuel investments from its $650 million endowment.
This is big! Today's news shows just how powerful divestment continues to be in the resistance against a rogue fossil fuel industry, and in shining a light on its devastating impacts. In times like these, it's important to take a moment to reflect on what the divestment movement has been doing right.
  • We are organizing for the long haul: It’s more important than ever to organize our communities and grow our movement from the grassroots up. The fossil fuel divestment movement has always believed that it will take more than just governments to address climate change, and that remains as true as ever.
  • We are powerful: The fossil fuel industry is fighting for its life against a growing climate movement. 688 institutions including faith groups, cultural institutions, pension funds, and universities have committed to divest from fossil fuels, and resistance to fossil fuel projects is taking root all over the world. This is what happens when we organize and fight, and we must continue to fight.
  • We are keeping the pressure on: In the face of a dangerous and anti-climate federal government and intensifying climate impacts, it's more crucial than ever to push our institutions -- especially locally -- to step into their leadership and fight with our communities for climate justice.
The announcement today shows just how far the divestment movement has come. Share this exciting news to show that our movement is strong and we will not back down.
Our work is not over, and there are many more challenges ahead. But the fossil fuel industry is weaker than it’s ever been and we remain strong on the side of climate justice.
Onward,
Katie for 350.org

Last week we got another subpoena from ExxonMobil.

They’ve hired a team of expensive lawyers to try and intimidate us into handing over all of our internal emails, documents, and communications. They're clearly worried about our work opposing the fossil fuel industry, and right now is an incredibly crucial moment to stand strong.

If you believe in our collective work to stand up to fossil fuel interests, I hope you’ll make a $15 donation to 350.org this year.
Not long after we got the Exxon subpoena, we learned that the company's CEO Rex Tillerson was being considered for the position of Secretary of State. Then, just yesterday, we learned that prominent Exxon apologist Scott Pruitt has been picked as the next head of the EPA (after public outcry forced Trump's first pick, climate denier Myron Ebell, out of the running).
With Trump preparing to populate his cabinet with fossil fuel industry allies -- if not outright industry executives -- the only way forward is to make this movement even stronger. Can you help us get ready for the battles ahead?

At 350.org, we’re preparing to go on the offensive against the Trump agenda.
That means making sure that the climate movement -- and the majority of Americans who rejected Trump -- know how reckless his appointments are. That means sending the message to members of Congress who believe in science and clean air that we are watching them closely. That means holding them accountable when they say one thing and do another. And that means challenging all the fossil fuel projects this administration will try to greenlight.
But we can’t do this work without your support. The dollars you donate help us organize rallies and direct actions, support frontline struggles to halt fossil fuel projects, and help support our legal defense when companies like Exxon try to come after us.
Click here to chip in $15 today.
Our strategy isn’t dictated by the confines of what’s convenient, but by the requirements of what’s necessary. We can do that, because we are and have always been fueled by the bottom-up energy of a grassroots network -- that is, by people like you.
Exxon is clearly worried about what we've done together so far. They know we can take on the fossil fuel industry -- because we have.
Let’s give them a reason to worry. Let's show them they're messing with the wrong movement.
Onwards,
May

“EPA” stands for “Environmental Protection Agency.” It’s our cop on the beat, protecting our families and our environment from hazardous waste, harmful pollution, and the polluters who dump it into our environment.

But with President-elect Trump’s pick of Scott Pruitt to lead it, the “EPA” could come to stand for “Every Polluters’ Ally.”

Scott Pruitt denies the science of climate change. He’s deep in the pockets of Big Oil and the fossil fuel industry. As Attorney General of Oklahoma, Pruitt put the health of millions of Americans at risk when he tried to undermine the Clean Water & Clean Air Acts.

This man is entirely unsuitable to head the EPA. I will vigorously oppose his nomination when it comes to the Senate. Today, I need you on my side.

Let my colleagues in the Senate know that you are against Scott Pruitt’s nomination and they should be, too. Add your name to the open letter >>

The American people want clean air in our communities. We want clean water running from our faucets. It helps protect our health and preserve the future for our kids.

President-elect Trump should respect that. He should not fill his cabinet with science-denying, oil-soaked, polluter allies like Scott Pruitt.

The Senate still has to confirm Pruitt. Let them know they shouldn’t. Sign the letter.

Last week, New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand laid down a clear marker: She’ll filibuster the waiver that retired Gen. James Mattis would need in order to serve as secretary of defense during Trump's administration.

A 70-year-old federal law bars retired members of the military from holding senior defense posts if they’ve served on active duty within the last seven years. Mattis retired only three years ago and thus requires a special waiver to pass both houses of Congress.

While the filibuster for cabinet appointees was eliminated a few years back, meaning a nominee can be confirmed with just 50 votes in the Senate, the waiver Mattis requires is subject to a filibuster. Mattis would therefore need 60 votes in order to become secretary of defense—so he’d need the support of at least eight Democrats to overcome a filibuster.

Sen. Gillibrand's filibuster is the type of leadership needed in the face a president-elect dead set on eroding constitutional norms. Help us call on other Democratic Senators to follow her lead.

Call Senator Tim Kaine at (202) 224-4024 and Senator Mark R. Warner at (202) 224-2023. Tell them to filibuster the waiver Gen. Mattis needs to become secretary of defense.

Sample script:
Hi, I'm (say your name) from (say from where you're calling). I'm calling today to urge my senator to filibuster the waiver Gen. Mattis needs to become secretary of defense. Civilian control of the military is a bedrock foundation of any democracy, and it’s more important than ever to uphold it now that we have a president-elect dead set on eroding constitutional norms. Thank you.
Once you've placed the call, please click here to tell us how it went.

Thanks for all you do,

Hi there,

This week, the plot thickened with respect to Donald Trump's exact position on the minimum wage. Two weeks ago, in this email, we focused on the fact that Trump appeared to have evolved on the question of whether to raise workers' hourly paychecks above $7.25 per hour. In July, for instance, he stated at a news conference that "the [federal] minimum wage has to go up."

But on Thursday, Trump nominated fast food executive Andy Puzner to serve as his secretary of labor. Puzner, who is the CEO of the parent company to Carl's Jr. and Hardee's, is a staunch critic of raising the minimum wage and believes that a pay hike for workers will lead to job loss and increased automation. As ATTN: reported last week, however, the opposite is proving true in Seattle, which raised its minimum wage to $15 in 2014 and is currently experiencing a new low in unemployment.

Huge news!
Last Sunday, the United States Army Corps of Engineers announced it will reject the permit for construction of a key section of the Dakota Access Pipeline project!
Their decision will effectively bring the construction of the 1,172 mile dirty oil pipeline to a halt -- at least for now. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the Standing Rock Sioux and the courageous water protectors who spent months on the ground in North Dakota. The credit for this hard-earned victory goes to them.
Although this huge win for people power over corporate power should be celebrated, we also need to be vigilant and make sure that it doesn’t get rolled back when we’re looking the other way.
The decision from the Army Corps of Engineers may well be reversed after Obama leaves office on Jan 20th. And the main company behind the Dakota Access Pipeline is still hell-bent on finishing construction -- in fact, at the very same moment as the announcement was made in Standing Rock, Energy Transfer Partners was drilling into rock under the Des Moines River in Iowa to lay down another section of the very same dirty oil pipeline.
That’s why it’s even more important than ever to target the banks funding this unethical project and convince them to sell their assets.
If you haven't yet signed the petition calling on investors to stop supporting the Dakota Access Pipeline, will you take a moment and join us now?
Our pressure is working. Last month, nearly 240,000 SumOfUs members called on banks around the world to stand with the Standing Rock Sioux. We delivered hundreds of thousands of signatures right to Bank DNB’s offices in Norway, and together we successfully got the banking giant to commit to sell its assets in the project. The next step is to get major investors like Wells Fargo, Citibank, TD Bank and Royal Bank of Scotland to follow Bank DNB’s lead.
Together we’ll continue to fight to put a stop to projects that threaten our natural resources and threaten the livelihoods of Indigenous communities around the world. And we’ll make sure that the Dakota Access Pipeline never gets built.
Until then.
Thanks for standing in solidarity with the Standing Rock Sioux.
Angus and the rest of the team at SumOfUs

RESIST FASCISM NOW!!!!! Bear with me...I'm going to keep running this for a while.

Keith Olbermann on the Russian coup--PEWtin's bloodless take-over of the United States. I'd like to see Comey prosecuted, too. A recent article in Vox spelled out the difference between the CIA position and the FBI position on Russia's intent in interfering with our elections: the CIA used common-sense inference to decide that the intent was to hand trump the election; the FBI won't reach such a conclusion without proof that would stand up in a court of law. Interesting difference--minor, in a sense--but I'd trust the CIA's conclusions over the FBI's right now because of the FBI's direct interference in the election to hand it to trump. Like it or not, Comey has confirmed that the FBI is trumpland--a Tea-Party-far-extremist-RWNJ partisan agency that is SUPPOSED to be neutral.

Randi Rhodes on CIA: Russia Tried To Help Trump; Entire Intelligence Community Fears Trump Will Retaliate.

Remember that Vox article above about chump weaponizing Twitter? Well, here's a prime example: criticize trump, and he'll tweet about you so that his followers dox you so that all of those alt-right pieces of shit can harass you in person and tail your children...

TYT: if you ask me, CORPORATE news is more dangerous to us than fake news. Corporate media hacks are the same people who gave Donald trump billions of dollars of free advertising and pretended that trump's very real crimes were no worse than Hillary's imaginary ones until they finally got frightened and woke up--too late to fix their mistake and stop trump from winning the White House. Watch this video and remind yourself of all the lies we've been sold by corporate media--not even mentioning all the false equivalencies. Newsweek especially and The New York Times and The Washington Post did some good reporting on trump in the run-up to the election; Newsweek actually did some sound investigative reporting, and they are still hard at work. But it was all too little too late. We need full transparency NOW--TELL your media and BOYCOTT their advertisers until we get it!

Besides, corporate media is also responsible for fake news!

chump's cabinet of villains...in case you had any doubt how quickly we're marching into fascism

Seth Meyers takes a closer look at chump's Carrier scam...

...and at chump's false claims and foreign "policy" moves

Redacted Tonight: recounts point to REPUBLICAN voter fraud

Randi Rhodes on the consequences of fake news and chump's plugged and overflowing swamp...and how badly, royally skrooed we are

Trevor Noah on trump "fakes a deal"

ICYMI, Keith Olbermann's take on chump's Carrier scam: chump just flushed our economy down the toilet (because DONALD JOHN TRUMP IS A SHITTY BUSINESSMAN!!!!!! Duh.)

TYT: gruesome details give Dylann Roof's mother a heart attack in court. Whenever a suitably white person commits an atrocity, people beg, "Consider his family!" What about when unarmed Blacks are shot by police? Do they ever ask us to consider the victim's family then? Or is it, "FUCK the family--that thug died a good death"?

FBI releases investigation statement re trump and the election. Weirder and weirder. The FBI pretended it couldn't release its non-statement, which this is, before the election...as if doing so would interfere with the election but throwing Hillary Clinton under the bus repeatedly was not. The point, I suppose, is that the FBI was investigating trump at all. Those fuckers damn well better investigate that bastard--NOW!!!!! And then we'd damn well better investigate the FBI!!!!!

So! chump only plans to be preznit part time so that he can keep taking a $50,000.00 pay check as executive producer of his shitty reality teevee show. That, of course, means that he'll be shopping out the responsibilities of his office to the now well-plugged and overfilled swamp. And that, of course, means that he is creating plausible deniability for himself...as if he-snot responsible for choosing the people he's chosen to fill those positions and therefore for their decisions to fuck us all over as early and often as possible. How little is this fat little man worth that he has to chase around $50,000.00 pay checks?

David Pakman: Carrier's CEO ADMITS that trump just gave him ammunition to kill jobs. He'll use the $7 million in taxpayer money to build robots, putting more Americans out of work.

David Pakman: Leonard Cruz outlines why trump's narcissism is DANGEROUS

Stephen Colbert: does opting out of intelligence violate break a norm or a law? What about trump's many other offenses?

David Pakman: Edward Snowden says that David Petraeus disclosed "more highly classified" secrets "than I ever did." Again, think about the double standard here. Donald trump is considering Petraeus for his administration while many of his advisors and adherents are demanding Snowden's execution. Think about why each man disclosed what he did. Now, with a straight face, tell me that trump has one ounce of integrity if you can. Oops--sorry about your keyboard there! Maybe put the drink down next time.

More from David: will ANYONE not suffer under Donald trump's kleptocracy? Except the top 1%, of course.

TYT: Sofia Vergara's "embryos" are...suing her?!?? This will make your blood boil.

Secular Talk: Weather Channel scientist shreds climate deniers using her image to mislead the American people. Yummy! Moar, please!!!

Here's another ICYMI I ran some time ago: how to adapt to trump's lies. Trevor Noah says to just keep demanding that trump elaborate on his outlandish claims and provide evidence. Let's all nag and boycott our media until they counter every idiocy, every destructive lie out of chump's fat, wrinkled, orange, ugly, face anus.

    SOPROUD: TDL
(Save Our Planet--Resist Orange Ugly donald: To-Do List)

Until further notice, the purpose of this blog is to provide tools to help protect and preserve our rights, our liberties, and our country from the wrinkled fat orange clusterfuck that is Donald "dickless LOSER" trump. As I track down more information, I will continue to refine these tools.

I've moved the full to-do list, including all the vendors to boycott, to the bottom of the post for your comfort and convenience.

If you value my work, please support me on Patreon: just point your browser to https://www.patreon.com/ and type "Dot Calm's shadow" into the search box at the top--thank you! Even a dollar a month from 20 people would really help right now--it would cover part of my Internet. Show me that there's more out there than just a lonely chorus of crickets!

    Action List

PROTECT yourself financially, reproductively, and medically.

    1. If you need a loan, get it NOW--rates have already gone up; they went up at least three times the first week or two after the election. MOVE your retirement out of the stock market and into a stable fund that is guaranteed NOT to lose your principal--if you're not risk averse, keep your money in stocks until after the inauguration...but move it out ASAP afterward because, once chump and the Rethuglikkkants deregulate Wall Street, we are in for a bust that makes chimp's Great Recession look like O'Bama's recovery. Thom Hartmann, Randi Rhodes, and their guest speakers agree that the Rethugs and chump will crash the economy by deregulating the stock market so quickly our haids will spin. The boom-bust cycle repeats every 80 years or so--as long as it takes for the last people who remember what a depression was like and fight the greedsters to die off. We're phuqued.

    2. If you're a woman of reproductive age or a man who knows and loves women of reproductive age, stock up on as much "Plan B" (the "morning after" pill) as you can afford NOW. Plan to take one pill either immediately after unprotected sex or the morning after unprotected sex, and plan to take another pill 24 hours later. No matter what else you do, STOCK UP NOW on Plan B because even the best contraceptives fail, and you won't be able to get an abortion once chump and the Rethuglikkkants take over.

    3. If you're a woman of reproductive age and don't already have an IUD or contraceptive implant, get yours NOW. Mirena has progestin, not estrogen, and can reduce your period; the copper ones without hormones (like Paragard) can cause cramping and heavy bleeding that doesn't go away until the device is removed (think having the second day of your period for a year at a clip). Of these two IUDs, women seem to prefer Mirena, but the device can still fall out. Cosmopolitan has a great discussion on these and other IUDs, what's involved with getting one (not a big deal, but you'll bleed for at least a week afterward), what's involved with having one removed (also not a big deal, but you'll bleed for at least a week after). "Managing Contraception" has an article on Mirena (not scary). If I were you, I'd skip the Skyla--it only lasts 3 years, so you wouldn't even be done with the orange fuckwad's first term if you get one. Planned Parenthood has a video about contraceptive implants and great information about all forms of contraception. And if you think you might need a do-it-yourself abortion some time in the future, go talk to Planned Parenthood NOW and see if you can stock up on mifepristone now--the options for DIY abortions at home using substances like vitamin C seem promising to desperate women but don't have any scientific backing. You can also try womenonwaves.org and womenonweb.org.

    4. Don't take any new drugs approved after 2016 without doing your own research into whether they're safe and effective. Republicans are weakening the FDA to the point that it will no longer be able to verify that new drugs will work and not harm us.

Now, make your daily calls and do the rest...

    DAILY CALLS!

CALL your U.S. Senators and Representatives DAILY at their LOCAL offices. SHOW UP in person if you can. Call each day with ONE issue--and KEEP CALLING. The staffers track your calls by issue, so don't give in to the temptation of giving them the whole laundry list all at once. Here is our list of demands:

    0. Call your members of Congress now to ask them to denounce Stephen Bannon. And Jeff Sessions, and Mike Flynn, and Mike Pompeo, and MORON Ebell, and the rest of them. Just call and tell your elected representatives to denounce and block ALL of trump's appointments because they're all reality-denying bigots who hate so many actual Americans that they are unfit to serve all Americans.

    1. DEMAND they support Barbara Boxer's bill to ABOLISH the Electoral College--popular vote only. DEMAND paper ballots only, and DEMAND audit trails be published in local papers. DEMAND they LET ALL Americans vote (undo voter roll purges and other Black voter suppression) and MAKE Election Day a national holiday for all. And STOP gerrymandering.

    2. FIGHT trump's personnel appointments and FILIBUSTER ALL trump's SCOTUS appointments. Supporting Citizens United or opposing the rights of women, immigrants, non-whites, non-Christians, LGBTQ+, and the poor are UNACCEPTABLE. This is NON-NEGOTIABLE.

    3. DEMAND trump's impeachment--DEMAND he be investigated NOW for corruption and conflict of interest. DEMAND to see his taxes. trump has already committed impeachable offenses, so DEMAND that he be held accountable NOW.

    4. REMIND them THEY'RE FIRED if they don't obstruct, obstruct, obstruct trump and the Republicans from Day 1. If they resist, REMIND them that Hillary WON the popular vote by over 2.25 million and climbing.

    5. DEMAND restoration of the Fairness Doctrine--DEMAND fair, fact-based, accurate media free from the false equivalencies and unchecked free coverage that foisted trump on us.

    CALL President Obama every day:

    1. DEMAND a SPECIAL PROSECUTOR to investigate FBI director James Comey and Donald trump for interfering with the election.

    2. DEMAND the Army Corps of Engineers go to Flint to dig up and replace all the poisoned pipes.

    3. PARDON Edward Snowden and consider pardoning Hillary Clinton--even though she's innocent--to stop the Republican witch hunts, especially since one of trump's campaign promises was to jail her: Republicans hate her so much that, if she'd as so much as farted, Republicans would have had her in jail faster than Martha Stewart. The fact that Hillary isn't in jail is proof positive that she's innocent, which is proof positive that the Republicans will keep coming at her.

    4. STOP DAPL. DOJ MUST investigate the atrocities being committed against peaceful, non-violent water protectors who just want clean water and tribal sovereignty over their own lands. MAKE Standing Rock a national monument. The US Army Corps of Engineers MUST revoke all permits to build DAPL. STOP the construction NOW, PERMANENTLY.

    5. DEMAND that NSEERS be dismantled to make it harder for chump to set up his Muslim registry.

    6. DEMAND that the government release ALL of its data before trump gets into office and lets the Republicans hide it all and make shit up.

    7. DEMAND the immediate release of every wrongly-held prisoner and anyone else who will suffer unfairly if not pardoned.

    AND THE REST!!

SIGN UP for daily headlines from Daily Kos, AlterNet, and "Democracy Now!" SIGN petitions. ATTEND town halls and protests. Jeremy Scahill's publication "The Intercept" is another high-quality resource of investigative reporting you'd be hard pressed to find elsewhere. GET INFORMED and GET INVOLVED!

If or when trump really does set up his Muslim registry, SIGN UP! Trevor Noah suggested this to be funny, but it's gone viral because the racist bigoted assholes can't deport us all, now can they? If I can do it as a proud anti-theist atheist, then so can you as whatever religion or lack thereof that you are. Keystone Progress has a page where you can pledge to sign up: Pledge to register as a Muslim if Trump creates a registry.

VOLUNTEER for and DONATE to all the organizations that D. LOSER trump is targeting. Get on their mailing lists and donate as much time and money as you can to Planned Parenthood, NRDC, American Civil Liberties Union, and causes that matter to you. Change your cell phone carrier to CREDO, which is a Sprint re-seller that supports blue causes. Planned Parenthood is especially important to support right now--women will die if we don't. You can also donate to WomenOnWeb, who help women get safe abortions online.

ORGANIZE to TAKE OVER the Democratic Party: FIGHT trump and the Republicans, CLEAN UP Democratic Party failures, WIN the midterms, and apologize to Bernie and America for failing.

PROTEST all media that inflicted trump on us--BOYCOTT their advertisers and TELL them why. This includes FUX Noise.

GRAB the pussy-in-thief by the wallet: BOYCOTT businesses that sell trump products and TELL them why.
