Dear elected Republicans: RESIGN and IMPEACH TRUMP on your way out!

Greetings, fellow Dot Calm Readers, Freedom Fighters, and Truth Crusaders!

Please stay t00ned to le blawg--I'm about to make some changes I think we'll all find helpful.

For example, although I plan to keep posting essays here, I also plan to set up separate pages for stuff like headlines, action items, funnehs, and m00bies from the Resistance.

However, since I only got back into town from the beach yesterday and have had a full schedule ever since, I haven't gotten tuit yet. Also, my brain is still in vacation mode...d'oh!

"RESIGN and IMPEACH TRUMP on your way out!"

This has become my tag line when tweeting elected Republican officials.

Gentle Readers, you don't need me to tell you that donald john trump is certifiably unfit to serve in the Oval Office.

You don't need me to tell you he is devoid of human emotions like warmth, empathy, and compassion.

You don't need me to tell you that tRUmp's only concern with everything from his businesses to his campaign to Hurricane Harvey is how he personally can benefit from it.

Like dismissing the impending victims of Harvey with a flippant "good luck."

Like hawking his cheap Chinese ball caps for $40 contributions to his CAMPAIGN--instead of offering comfort while Houston drowned.

Like getting disturbingly excited over the size of the storm--as if its size somehow reflects positively on him or as if he can somehow take credit (?!) for it--while Houston drowned.

Like deliberately timing his pardon of anti-Constitutional, law-breaking law enforcement official Joe Arpaio in a way he expected to maximize his own ratings--while Houston drowned.

Like hawking a book by Arpaio understudy David Clarke--while Houston drowned.

Like praising government workers' still-far-from-complete response to the storm and its aftermath--as if the countless volunteers don't count and as if Houston were no longer drowning and as if he could somehow take credit for the local government's hard work--while Houston was still drowning.

Like going to Houston for a photo op, stealing resources from the people for his own self-gratification, turning his ill-timed visit into an impromptu CAMPAIGN rally, and bragging about the turn-out and crowd size--as if it reflected positively on him--while Houston was still drowning.

Like drowning us in a steady deluge of words and deeds that consistently prove that he has no concept of his job--proving that he has no concept that he's supposed to serve and comfort the people, not vice versa.

You don't need me to tell you any of this--you don't need me to tell you that tRUmp doesn't qualify for human, let alone president.

But here's the kicker...

The GOP still follows tRUmp as their standards bearer.

No matter how vile, reprehensible, repulsive, disgusting, callous, hateful, bigoted, unhinged, and destructive tRUmp gets, the Republicans in the Congress and Senate continue to support him.

No matter how egregiously tRUmp breaks the law, violates the Constitution, promotes violation of the Constitution, pardons violators of the Constitution, blabs top secret information to our enemies, or even commits treason, the GOP continues to back him.

No matter how incompetent, insane, and inhumane tRUmp acts, Republicans in the House and Senate will back him up and shush each other from pointing out that the tRUmperor has no clothes. They shush each other from whispering "Impeach."

Surely, they see what's going on as clearly as you and I do.

Several have even commented on tRUmp's unfitness to govern to the press--only to spark recent decrees from GOP leadership never to mention "impeachment" and "tRUmp" within earshot of the press ever again.

So, then, the question becomes not why--we all know it's for money and power--but how?

How can Republicans who understand what tRUmp is let him destroy himself and us day after day after day?

How much must they hate America to drag it and us into--and through--the abattoir?

How little must they care for actual Americans--how little must they care for life, despite their pro-life political "stance"--how little must they care for the suffering, grieving families who lost loved ones, not to mention everything they own, in the hurricane?

How divorced are they from reality, like climate change, when it conflicts with their precious plans to steal our money and our future even though all the money in the world can't protect them from the outcomes of their plans, like worsening natural disasters?

How little must they even care about money, which they love and covet as much as power, when they continue to support tRUmp as the stock market falls due to his mental instability?

What kind of monsters do this? What kind of monsters prop up a fellow, arguably worse monster and protect him from the good guys as they close in?

How the hell do they look themselves in the mirror?

How the hell do they sleep at night?

Could you do it?

A measly handful of Republicans have been pretending to distance themselves from tRUmp. Rexxon was not alone in his claim that tRUmp speaks only for himself.

Sounds to me like Republicans want it both ways--they want their monster tRUmp in the White House, happily torturing and murdering all those inconvenient black and brown people, women, LGBTQ+, and other "undesirables"--all while pretending tRUmp isn't their monster.

And, like Cruz and Cornyn voting against government funds for victims of super-storm Sandy, they're fine with wreaking havoc on everyone else only to come begging, hat in hand, for clemency and aid when disaster strikes them.

I for one am determined not to let them get away with this bullshit.

I remind them every time I can that tRUmp is their standards bearer.

I remind them every day that condoning tRUmp's crimes is tantamount to committing them.

I remind them every day that THEY own tRUmp--the violence we've already had domestically and the threats of conflicts and war to come are THEIR fault because THEY continue to enable tRUmp's insanity.

I do this on Twitter and Resistbot (by texting "Resist" to 50409), and I call their offices every chance I get. Like today.

Just like the grassroots campaign that sprang up on a moment's notice to shame megarich megachurch "pastor" joel osteen into opening his goddamn church that seats over 16,000 to victims of Harvey, I think we can coax and cajole and pound and pummel our elected officials to do what's right. The shame campaign on Twitter and Resistbot are the daily piece we all must do until we ALL take to the streets in the nationwide general strike to halt the nation's economy for at least a day to show that WE CAN and WE WILL.

Of course, I'm shame-campaigning tRUmp on Twitter, too.

I figure what I'm doing is the equivalent of flicking rubber bands at tRUmp...it may not seem like much, but it's something.

And we know that he reads the tweets and that they get under his skin.

Can you imagine what would happen if we all stood shoulder to shoulder doing the verbal equivalent of flicking rubber bands at tRUmp and the Republican party from now until we get our country back?

Can you imagine what would happen if we all hounded them all, day after day after day until someone among us finally organizes THE general strike, which would scare the shit out of them because it would cost them money?

Maybe our hail of rubber bands can't take tRUmp and the Republicans down, but we can sure make their lives miserable until we DO take them down!
