republicans have wanted to gut Social Security for decades

Let's be real: republicans aren't upset because musktrumputin wants to cut Social Security and the other programs we all pay into our whole lives--they're just upset because the word got out!

Even republicans know that gutting the programs we pay into to keep ourselves alive is "unpopular."

I'm old enough to remember when w waved his hand and claimed that there was "nothing in Social Security but IOU's." This generation of republicans is calling Social Security a Ponzi scheme. 

All of them are wrong. 

We all pay in to Social Security our whole working lives. If republicans are so gosh-darned concerned about there being enough in there, then let them TAX THE RICH. 

Did you know that, if you make above $176,100.00 per year, the money you make beyond that is NOT taxed for Social Security? Why is that? If you make that much, you should be living comfortably enough to be able to afford having Social Security tax taken out for your full salary. And we all know that non-wage earnings are not taxed for Social Security. 

If we were really interested in an equitable society, we'd tax every penny of income for Social Security--wages, investments, all of it. We could probably apply a lower percentage tax, and we'd all be helping each other that way.
