Donald Trump's military "service"
Donald Trump was in Illinois campaigning recently, holding a rally in Springfield.
Meanwhile, it’s been nearly two months since Donald Trump tried to
equate his military prep school education with actual military service.
He still has yet to apologize for his outrageous claim.
Trump said he “always felt that I was in the military” and had “more
training militarily than a lot of the guys that go into the military.”
His absurd reasoning: according to the New York Times, he attended an
“expensive prep school where his parents had sent him to correct poor
behavior.” But he never served - and in fact, he received multiple
deferments during Vietnam.
Trump is continuing to lead in Republican presidential primary polls
and just received major national attention this weekend on Saturday
Night Live. This is a critical time to point out Trump’s shameful
disrespect to our nation’s Veterans.
Donald Trump’s words are an insult to those who sacrifice for
our nation. Tell him to stop pretending his prep school education
compares to the service of our troops:
