From Addicting Info: FOX "analyst" dangerous to community

Long time terrorism analyst for FOX News has been indicted for lying about working for the CIA and was denied bond on Tuesday by a judge who believes he poses a significant danger to the community.

Wayne Simmons, 62, of Annapolis, Maryland, was taken into custody by US Marshals after his appearance before a Virginia judge on Tuesday.

The judge denied his bond, citing his 11 arrests for driving under the influence, a 2007 arrest for assault, and multiple felony firearm convictions.

The judge also noted that the CIA impersonator was in possession of multiple firearms during his arrest on these very charges.

The prosecutors also confirmed he has a violent temper, with an anecdote about a time that he was ordered by police to stop beating up a cab driver — to which he responded, “I’m CIA. You can’t do anything to me.”

Simmons did not just lie to the public, he also lied while attempting to obtain security clearances and to try to gain employment from the government as a defense contractor. Insanely enough, he was successful and was once deployed overseas as an intelligence advisor to senior military officials.

Since 2002, Simmons has been a regular on Fox News as their analyst on terrorism. The network has been attempting to distance themselves, claiming that he was unpaid and was simply a guest — but for years he was falsely presented to their viewers as a former CIA terrorism expert.

Simmons was also indicted for defrauding a victim out of $125,000 in a bogus real estate deal.

His indictment by a grand jury last week alleges that from 1973 until 2000, Simmons masqueraded as an “Outside Paramilitary Special Operations Officer” for the Central Intelligence Agency. He has been charged with fraud against the United States, wire fraud, and making false statements to the government.

If convicted, Simmons faces a maximum of 20 years in prison relating to the wire fraud, 10 years in prison for the major fraud against the US government, and 5 years in prison for the counts relating to his false statements.

Simmons is scheduled to be arraigned on October 23, at 9 a.m. in Alexandria, Virginia.
