Accidental Gunfire at "Gun
Appreciation Day" Events
By David Weigel
Jan. 21, 2013--At least five people--three in North Carolina, one in Indiana and one in Ohio--were injured after weapons went off accidentally at gun shows Saturday, officials said.
Shouldn't these briainiacs have to pass an IQ test?
The most casualties came at the Dixie Gun and Knife Show in Raleigh, North Carolina, where attendees bolted--with at least one woman wiping out in the frenetic scene after gunfire rang out around 1 p.m.
That sounds charming. There goes her hot dog!
The accidents were totally out of the ordinary.
Really? Not to the victims!
This stuff happens sometimes when people are handling a lot of old weapons very quickly.
Um...that may be true...but, why were the freakin things loaded?
But we don't often hear about it because there's no group yammering to the media that it should cover a national day of gun appreciation.
What's yammering?
This is a common theme in the current gun debate. Second Amendment defenders haven't sweated legislation for years, and are responding to the threat with maximum sloppiness.
Could the Second Amendment have meant the guns of those days....ya know, like muskets!...rather than picking children off like targets at a carnival??
Just asking.
The bang-on best example of this is the NRA's "armed guards for Obama's kids" ad, which based the claim that Sidwell Friends has "11 armed guards."
Yeah! The spoiled brats! Why do those kids need armed guards anyhow? We need to save those shekels for the next war...hear that Iran?! Never mind all the money that was transferred from the U.S Treasury to the already wealthy. We didn't see that. We practically forgot that.
Ever wonder where the wealth came from for that lucky 1%?
And thanx for mentioning their school, you morons
There are a couple of unconfirmed blog items about how the school has a decent-sized security staff.
