Six men were killed in a shooting at a Sikh temple
in Milwaukee by an Army vet who is suspected
to be a possible white supremacist.
Statements from some politicians and members of the Sikh community in response to the violence:
President Obama is deeply saddened by the latest massacre, this time in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.
Congressman Charles Rangel is shocked! Shocked, I tell you!
Rather than being shocked, when are we going to do something about it?
My thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and the families and friends who lost loved ones.
blah, blah...blah, blah...blah, blah!
I pray that the wounded will be healed from the physical and psychological harm that was inflicted upon them.
So, are we Xeroxing this statement? Looks like we’re gonna need a boat load.
Targeting a religious group in their place of worship undermines the basic freedom and security of our country.
This act of senseless terrorism, which comes just weeks after the tragic shooting massacre in Aurora, Colorado, calls for a national dialogue on stricter gun control in our communities to prevent dangerous individuals from acquiring automatic weapons in the first place. It is imperative that we put a stop to such tragedies from ever happening again.
Finally! Gun violence is being mentioned. Guess it’s hard to ignore the giant elephant in the room!
"I am shocked and horrified” to learn of the latest shooting rampage, this time at the Sikh Temple in Oak Creek Wisconsin.
See? I told you he was shocked.
It is still too early to know much about the details of the shooting, but we do know that a shooter entered a temple and opened fire on innocent men and women inside.
Yep! Gun plus crazy equals massacre.
People of faith everywhere must stand together to condemn this terrible act, and to reach out in support of the victims and their families during this time of need. Their pain is our pain, and we must unite to combat such violence everywhere it occurs."
Hear that NRA? Consider this your notice. Hey, don’t fret! There’s still some good huntin’ out here.
Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr: "I, along with all 1.4 million residents in the Bronx, will keep the community of Oak Creek and the entire state of Wisconsin in our thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
Hey! Why stop at Wisconsin. The good folks of the Bronx need our prayers, too. After all, they live in the Bronx!
Our hearts go out to the families and friends of those who were killed and wounded. This tragedy comes just weeks after the shooting massacre in Aurora, Colorado.
Should we run a scroll along the bottom of the screens with names of the latest victims?
I strongly believe it is time for a national dialogue on stricter gun control, to prevent guns and ammunition from falling into the wrong hands.
Ya think?
