A Message from Truthout

If there is one lesson that has been made obvious by the current state of our political discourse, our economy and the destruction of our institutions, it is that there is no longer time for loud voices unless they are backed by tangible action.

The good news is there are millions of people taking steps to realign their lives in accordance with their values. Whether this realignment manifests as eating locally grown foods or getting arrested during a foreclosure prevention action with a local community group, these decisions matter.

We hope that all Americans consider realigning some of their resources toward the cause of values-based independent journalism. In addition to spotlighting just where the system is breaking down, every American must consider it their duty to report on the development of the next economy and those who are weaving it. We must stay alert and tell these stories.
