Revisiting political violence: charlie kirk's murder and more
Just a few remarks before I offer up a few videos and memes for today...
I keep hearing what strikes me as a false dichotomy regarding the murder of charlie kirk: either people are "horrified" or "celebrating."
maga seems to think that the left is celebrating the hateful little man's murder--they think we're laughing and partying.
I think this is because they celebrate when one of theirs attacks Democrats, Jews, women, Latinos, LGBTQ+....
For example, I'm old enough to remember how republicans responded to the vicious attack on Paul Pelosi: they literally laughed; they lamented that he survived; and they made up stories they felt were as insulting as humanly possible (i.e., they pretended that the attacker was Paul Pelosi's gay lover, as if being LGBTQ+ is somehow wrong or less than).
In somewhat of a contrast, they at best shrug off when one of theirs mass murders school children; at worst, they screech that these mass shooting are hoaxes.
So of course they project their callousness to gun violence onto us--just as they project their homosexuality, bisexuality, trans genderism, and pedophilia onto us.
The truth is that, no, I do not celebrate charlie kirk's murder. Although I am relieved that he can no longer harm people with his own hateful voice, I never wished him any harm, wished him dead, or celebrated his gruesome murder.
I do feel grief that he was taken out through gun violence. Unfortunately, like maga, I too am somewhat too accustomed to the business as usual of gun violence in this country. I grew up around it. There was one mass shooting in my town just before I turned 7; there was another before I turned 8.
And I lived in a safe white bread suburban neighborhood with virtually no other crime--violent or otherwise--to speak of.
Those were the first two mass shootings I remember hearing of; my family and I lost several friends and loved ones to gun violence before I'd lived many more decades.
So, yeah, having grown up with gun violence, I see kirk's murder as a natural consequence of both the horrible, willfully violent American gun culture he himself helped foment and his own hateful, violent rhetoric.
And, although I lament that he died by murder, I can't help feeling relief that one such monster is no longer able to harm me or my loved ones. Sorry, maga, I'm just not stupid enough to feel horrified or grieved at the permanent departure of someone determined to harm me, just as, unlike you, I'm not stupid enough to vote for some pick-me who is determined to destroy me just because they look like me.
Sadly, one of kirk's acolytes recently committed a political murder on his behalf: he used his truck to mow down two teenage Latinas, one of whom he claimed "laughed" about kirk's murder...but since the victims were not white and/or male, the media are largely ignoring this case of political violence. (I wouldn't be surprised if this murderer both projected his own glee at violent attacks on Democrats onto Maria Niotis and was romantically interested in her and was rejected by her--probably rightfully so for his coming across as a violent creep. And perhaps he used kirk's murder as cover for murdering Maria not only for rejecting him but out of his own anger with himself for being attracted to and rejected by a Latina rather than a white girl. But this is only conjecture on my own part, and I digress.)
Compounding political violence is also a consequence of kirk's murder: although republicans are hateful and violent every day, they certainly don't seem to mind having--or, in the case of kirk's murder, inventing--any convenient excuse for really letting loose their rage on the innocent.
Their lust for cruelty and blood seems to know no bounds.
And that is a natural consequence of having trump as the standards bearer for the American republican party.
Friends, I remain convinced that good will come from all of this: that America will become saturated to the point of disgust with trump's reeking brand of mindless violence and constant corruption, treason, and law-breaking and that, as a nation, we will rise up and say, "ENOUGH!"
From the ashes of this phoenix, we will create a safer, more just, more peaceful, more equitable, and more prosperous America for all of us.

"MILITARY’S REACTION TO PETE HEGSETH/TRUMP TALK #trump #maga #petehegseth"
Sadly, fox propaganda plays 24/7 on every TV in every military base and government office in this country. As a result, the rank and file eat it up, worship the orange foolius, and live ignorant lives completely unmoored from objective reality. But the top brass is more educated and has more no-kidding, no-bullshit experience in the real world. So if you were worried that our generals would cheer and applaud whiskeyleaks pete kegsbreath's and trump's micro dick energy prancing and peacocking, paranoia, illegality, treason, violence, and stupidity, cheer up--the top brass were as disgusted and revolted as the rest of us who happen to have more than two working neurons between our ears.
"BREAKING: IS GOOGLE BLOCKING TRUMP DEMENTIA SEARCHES? #shorts"
So, the fascists at google gladly dogpile on President Biden while blocking the truth on trump's obvious dementia and cognitive decline.... Watch the short and try it yourself: search on biden's dementia and on trump's dementia and compare the results of those two searches. It's shocking but, alas, not surprising.
"Charlie Kirk’s Own Words #duet #charliekirk #racist #misogynist #homophobia"
Again, the way you die does not redeem the way you lived. charlie kirk was a vicious, hateful, violent monster who gloried in punching down to harm innocent women, people of color, LGBTQ+, and other marginalized communities instead of using his voice and his platform to speak truth to power and promote peace and justice for all.
"I REFUSE to participate in this atrocity"
David Pakman outlines the fetid history of republicans weaponizing the federal budget process to create artificial government shutdowns and the associated crises that harm and kill innocent Americans. We truly don't have to live this way--we don't have to suffer at the hands of republicans who know not how to govern and lead but only how to harm and destroy. They are so psychologically damaged that they see us not as fully human--because they don't see themselves as fully human--but only as pawns to kick around and trample for fun, power, and profit. And that's why David Pakman refuses to breathlessly report on whether there will be a shutdown, when there will be a shutdown, how long the shutdown will last, or any of the other horse-race nonsense that fascist legacy media obsess over.
"Political Violence, Charlie Kirk, & Mormonism"
Sarah is a farmer, and she was brought up mormon. The suspect in the charlie kirk shooting, as a mormon, "looks like family" to Sarah. She says that mormon children are brought up by a village, so there is a lot of unity and cooperation among adults in rearing mormon children; there is exactly one way a mormon is expected to live their life; and there is zero teaching or understanding of how to deal with people who are different or what to do if you happen to be different yourself. So she says that mormonism truly primes children for radicalization--I would add that republicanism itself, of which mormonism is a sect, radicalizes boys. (Side note: a mormon, like a catholic, qualifies as "christian" only when it's convenient for republicans.) And on top of all of this, mormonism comes with guns. LOTS of guns. And lots of training with guns. So, if you grow up mormon and miss one or more mormon milestones, get tired or frustrated with the tightly circumscribed life mormonism insists is god's plan to make you happy, are LGBTQ+ or love someone LGBTQ+, reject all the institutionalized sexual abuse, or otherwise care about someone different or are different yourself, like so many other mormons, you are brought up to eschew empathy at all costs, and you can end up like the young white blonde "ideal republican" man who allegedly shot charlie kirk.
"Groypers Love Femboys"
I mentioned a post or three ago that the alleged kirk shooter is a groyper, meaning a follower of nick fuentes, for whom charlie kirk wasn't maga enough. groypers are incels who groom other incels to replace women, whom they abhor with a seething passion, by feminizing themselves. groypers are obsessed in a positive way with transgender women for the same reason. So the charlie kirk shooter having a feminized assigned-male-at-birth romantic partner fits with the groyper identity as we understand it.
"Let's talk about Trump’s international weakness on full display...."
trump is so extremely, excessively weak, stupid, traitorous, and incompetent that we really could see World War III under this regime. putin flying armed military drones over our NATO ally Poland and bibi attacking our ally Qatar are Very Big Deals, but trump is sleepy, low energy, low information, and callously and ignorantly dismissive, submissive, and supine in such matters of true importance.
"Let's talk about Trump's Jan 6 own goal...."
So. trump CAN deploy the National Guard...but only to terrorize the innocent Americans trump has declared war on, not when there's a very real insurrection and violent attack on the nation's capitol.
"11 Dems just voted for Tr*mp's bill to put immigrants in prison for YEARS. It'll cost taxpayers $$"
Blue maga is apparently a thing, and they're just as hateful, inhuman, traitorous, and cruel as red maga. tom suozzi just got in. This shit is why people think both parties are identical.
Congressional switchboard 202-224-3121
All 11 Democrats who voted for the bill represent battleground seats and are Republican targets next year. They were Reps.

"Fox SPIRALS as Hosts LOSE IT on AIR"
brian kilmeade committed the crime of stochastic terrorism by casually calling for the murder by lethal injection of homeless veterans and other vulnerable, innocent men, women, and children. kilmeade committed a crime in the state of New York that should get him and fox propaganda taken off the air permanently and prosecuted for said crime. The other fox hosts didn't even challenge kilmeade on his disgusting, murderous, thuggish demand. Dare I say it? "You first, bri bri."
"Why Farmers Voted For Trump"
Farmers ARE rich. Farmers are NOT working class. Remember, all that land and farm equipment COSTS. Farmers KNEW trump would start trade wars and cost them serious sales money. But they voted for benefits including easier enslavement of their workers, and they expected free money hand-outs from trump like they got last time. But just like trump always stiffed contractors once they were no longer needed, trump is stiffing farmers because trump no longer needs them.
