It's far from over, friends...
So.
tRUmp deliberately hacked off a limb to start a hemorrhage, threw a dainty Band-Aid toward the growing river of blood, and lumbered off in search of KFC, McDonald's, beautiful chocolate cake, two scoops of ice cream, diet Coke, golf, FOX and Friends, and good ratings.
That's right, friends--the fight to keep families together is not over just because Mister "the Democrats are abusing meh, waah waah waah," who campaigned as Mister "I alone can fix it," finally signed an executive order minimally stopping some of the damage he did with the policy HE ALONE put in place.
Now, the plan is to detain immigrant families indefinitely together (at least! And for this we must be grateful!) while leaving some 2,500 children who've already been torn from their families out there, scattered across the country, in the gulags--the true tRUmp hotels.
To throw salt on the wound, tRUmp just defunded the program that provides legal counsel to these children--meaning that, now, that baby torn from her mothers' arms while breastfeeding is expected to represent herself in court to seek asylum.
If you follow Dot Calm's M00bies from the Resistance, you already know that immigrant parents aren't even given as much as a slip of paper--like you get when you check your luggage to board an airplane
--when their children are ripped from their arms. You already know that ICEtapo gives those parents one "A is for alien" number and the children they kidnap another "A" number--making it virtually impossible for the parents even to find their children, let alone to collect them, which our government says is the parents' responsibility, before the ICEtapo shunts the parents onto first available airplanes to deport them.
tRUmp never intended to reunite these families.
What's worse, neither did anyone in his administration OR DHS, HHS, ICEtapo, or anyone else in the system who could have set up a process at least to reunite these poor, suffering families before throwing them back into the violence and corruption they sought to flee in the first place.
And don't forget that that "woman" Secretary Nielsen says that the plan is to RESUME KIDNAPPING the children as soon as the administration thinks the heat is off--that we're sufficiently distracted.
You can't make this stuff up.
And as I said on Twitter, the timing of these gawd-awful stories is important--as you and I are fighting to retain a shred of basic human decency in this country, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell are using this humanitarian disaster as cover to cut Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security while they think we're not paying attention.
They are in the process of stealing what you and I put in--what my dad put in that he needs now to stay alive and well--to give it to the idle, do-nothing, entitled rich, who didn't pay in, don't need, and didn't earn these benefits like you, my dad, and I have.
Keep fighting, friends. Call your members of Congress
--harass the bastards if nothing else--and, whatever you do, find at least one person to help register to vote and then drive them to the polls this November so we can vote these bastards out and start the impeachment process.
One piece of good news in all this mess is that true superhero without a cape Michael Avenatti has said "Basta!" once again and is now fighting to reunite the immigrant families our government is torturing. I'm good for (ouch!) $100 to help him fight for Stormy Daniels and these innocent children. I'll post information re how and where to donate once I verify it.
Update:
Here's where to donate to help Michael Avenatti defend Stormy Daniels and the children kidnapped at our southern border:
https://www.crowdjustice.com/case/stormy/
https://www.crowdjustice.com/case/stop-separating-families/
I just donated ($25 to Stormy and $75 to reuniting the families.)
Oh, and I just donated a $50 gift certificate from The Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, Virginia, for kicking Sandbag Huckster Slanders out:
https://redhenlex.com/gift-certificates/
I asked them to donate the gift certificate to their local teachers or veterans (who are being hurt worst by tRUmp and GOP's policies), and I thanked them for standing up to the sandbag.
